KATHRYN GERTRUDE KING “KATIE” MASON, age 60 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV.
She was born Tuesday, June 27, 1950 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late James Robert King and Lena G. Pitzer King. On June 27, 1970 at Oakland, Md, she was married to Clarence Robert “Bob” Mason, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Roberta May “Kookie” Meadows and husband Stephen of Columbia, MO; two brothers, Franklin Steven King and Robert Lee “Hopsing” King, both of Parsons.
Preceding her in death is one brother, Jimmy Russell King.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1970. She was a former employee of Parsons Footwear and she was a homemaker. She attended the Nazarene Church of Parsons. Katie hobbies were quilting, canning and she loved her little dog “Smokey”.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 1 PM at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman. At Katie’s request the casket will remain closed. Pastor Allen D. Crosten will officiate and interment will follow.
