HAZEL ALICE REAMS FISHER, age 97 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Monday, November 22, 2010 at her home.
She was born Thursday, March 13, 1913 at Beverly, WV a daughter of the late William Reams and California Iowa Williams Reams. On July 25, 1931 at Beverly, WV she was married to Greydon W. Fisher, who preceded her in death. Surviving are five sons, Robert Hale Fisher and wife Dora; William Greydon Fisher and wife Sandi; David Lynn Fisher and wife Theresa; Harold Alan Fisher and wife Barbara; and Michael Bernard Fisher, all of Elkins; four daughters, Ellen Louise Swartz, MI; Elsie Juanita Shoemaker and husband Bud; Evelyn Margaret White and husband Ben; and Janet Vanessa Isner and husband Jack, all of Elkins; twenty three grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are one daughter, Reba H. Bise; six brothers, Edward, Cecil, Luther, Howard, John, and Glen Reams; four sisters, Margaret “Blanche” Junker; Mabel Reams; Dessie Dale Jordan; and Virginia Jordan; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Swartz.
She attended the schools of Hazelwood and Beverly, was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and making Afghans.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Friday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 1:30 PM. Carlton Schooley and Dale Parker will officiate and interment will follow at the Beverly Cemetery at Beverly, WV.
