OBITUARY: BERNICE ARLENE CLINE Bernice Arlene Cline, 85, formerly of Moatsville, died Tuesday, February 9, in the Mansfield Place of Broaddus Hospital following an extended illness. She was born July 16, 1924, at Moatsville, a daughter of the late William “Jack” and the late Cordilla Gay(Shaffer) Haller. On August 21, 1940, she was united in marriage to Thomas Augustus Cline, who preceded her in death on April 30, 2002. Survivors include one daughter, Regeania Murphy and husband, Lynn, Philippi; one son, Gerald Cline and wife, Dianna, Philippi; two grandchildren, Angela Doyle and Lanessa Murphy; one brother-in-law, Dowden Cline, Tennessee, one sister-in-law, Myrtle Haller Moore, Philippi. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Hayward Cline; one sister, Beulah Loar; four brothers, Leon Haller, Donald Haller, Bryan “Doc” Haller, James L. “Pete” Haller, and infant grandchild, Lynnae Murphy. Mrs. Cline attended the Nestorville United Methodist Church where she was a former member of the church choir. She also attended the Philippi United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Barbour County Senior Center. She was a homemaker who loved to farm. Mrs. Cline enjoyed gardening and quilting and was known by all for thoughtfulness and love for her family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 13, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Alicia Rapking and Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery.
