GARY LEE “BUTCH” PRICE, age 65 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Thursday morning, October 27, 2011 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins.
He was born Saturday, April 6, 1946 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Oliver Woodrow and Dorothy Virginia Coffman Price. On June 14, 1996 at St. George, WV, he was married to the former Patricia Ann Cupit, who preceded him in death January 18, 2005. He was afflicted with blindness since the age of three.
Surviving are one brother, Michael Lynn Price and wife Eileen of Holly Meadows; one sister, Janet Marie Colson and husband Owen of S.C.; one sister in law, Hazel Price; four nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is one brother, Larry Woodrow Price.
He was a graduate with the Class of 1966 at the West Virginia School for the Blind and Deaf at Romney, WV, where he was an accomplished wrestler for the school. He attended the IBM School in Baltimore, Md. He was a former employee for the Light House Company in Cumberland, MD. He was an avid sports fan for the New York Yankees and the Kentucky Wildcats. He was a collector of Rock n Roll and Country Albums.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated on December 9, 2011 at 1:30 PM at the First Baptist Church at Parsons, WV. Pastor Allen D. Crosten will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.
