Brenda Jo Bennett, age 50, of Buckhannon, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 22, 1960 in Buckhannon, WV a daughter of Denzil S. “Chub” and Barbara Jack Alkire of Buckhannon. On June 30, 1984 she married Jeffrey A. Bennett who survives. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by one son, Tyler Bennett of Buckhannon; one daughter, Whitney Bennett and fiancé Derek Marsh of Buckhannon; one sister, Susanne Gompers and husband Robert of Buckhannon; two half sisters, Shirley Hyre of Gassaway, WV and Rhonda Tuner of Weston, WV; special half sister, Marilyn Moore and husband Chuck of Rosedale, WV; half brother, Dennis Alkire of Pataskala, OH and three special nieces, Haley, Lauren and Sarah Gompers all of Buckhannon. Brenda was a Registered Nurse for Tucker County VA Clinic. She was a member of the Good Hope Tabernacle Church in Buckhannon and was a Christian by faith. She was a graduate from BUHS Class of 1978 and Salem College Class of 1982. The family would like to extend special thanks to People’s Hospice and Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Friends will be received Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 4-9 PM at the Good Hope Tabernacle Church. Funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
