Elsie L. Smith, age 61, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, April 1, 2011 at her home under the care of People’s Hospice of Clarksburg, WV. She was born February 19, 1950 in Sand Fork, WV, a daughter of the late Glen Wesley and Mamie Mae Fisher Knight. On March 31, 1967 she married Paul W. Smith who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Robin Diane Wilson and husband Alvin of Gaines, WV, Janice Day of Buckhannon and Glenda Lewis and husband Lynn of Buckhannon; two sons, Paul B. Smith and wife Melissa of Buckhannon and Joseph Smith and wife Bula of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Nathan Day of Buckhannon, Justin Wilson of Gaines, WV and Keagon Lewis of Buckhannon; six granddaughters, Courtney Smith, Kelsey Day, Taylor and Casey Smith, Alexis Lewis and Xylia Lewis all of Buckhannon; four brothers, Charles Knight of CA, Dale Knight and wife Rose of Buckhannon, Gale Knight of OH and Gilbert Knight of Buckhannon; two sisters, Virginia Moore of TX and Myrtle Shipman and husband John of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Kenneth and Bud Knight and four sisters, Susie Goodwin, Hazel and Mildred Knight and Judy Heater. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, camping and spending time with her grandkids. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 11 AM until 2 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Francis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Rupert Church Cemetery in Buckhannon.
