Billie Gear Sr. 1933-2011 Obituary
Billie Gear, Sr., 77, of Dry Run Road in Mill Creek, WV entered into eternal rest early morning Tuesday March 1, 2011 at his home in Mill Creek, WV. He was born Sunday June 4, 1933 in Randolph County, WV, a son of the late Worlie and Della McCauley Gear. He was employed in local sawmills as well as in the coal mines. He also worked at the water plant in Mill Creek. Billie enjoyed hunting and building matchstick houses and picture frames. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife: Hilda Lloyd Gear; one grandson: Michael Austen Camp; five sisters: Lucille Chewning, Virgie Taylor, Thelma Lambert, Laura Snyder and Goldie Gear and five brothers: Alvie, Homer, Woodrow, Austin and Frank Gear. Left to cherish his memories are his wife: Caroline Martin Gear of Mill Creek, WV; five daughters: Sherry Gear Foster and husband, Drake of Charleston, WV, Edna Jones and husband, Dan, Rosemary Butler and husband, Bill, and Cathy Hauserman and companion, all of PA and Marilyn Currence and husband, Ben of Mill Creek; four sons: Woody Currence and wife, Diane, Emory Currence and wife, Becky, Billie Junior Gear and fiance, Kayla, all of Mill Creek and Robert Hauserman and fiance Devon DelPrete of PA ; twenty grandchildren: Halena Gear, Jerica Foster, Lucas Currence, A.J. Currence, Michele Currence and companion, Rick Hammonds, Jessica Ware and husband, Scott, Matt Currence and wife, Crystal, Kayla Jones, Barry Anderson and wife Kaitlyn, Daniel Anderson, Angel Gear, Veronica Scott, Melissa Martin and companion, Bobby Brewster, Timmy Currence and wife, Jessica, Isabella Gear, Lacy Austen Camp, Kaysea Rodgers, Billy Butler, Katie Butler, and Kelly Butler; twelve great grandchildren; Azra Scott, Frankie Scott, Charity Currence, Jamal Currence, Nicholas Currence, Zoe Anderson, Trenten Anderson, Seth Anderson, Jordan Hammonds, Kayly Hammonds, Bobby Hammonds, and Matthew Currence. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Thursday March 3, 2011 at The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday March 3, 2011 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Harold Swecker officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery on Dry Run Road in Mill Creek, WV.
