Rev. Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Daniels, age 79 years, a resident of Meadland Mills, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in the Fairmont General Hospital. She was born March 16, 1932 at Coalton, WV a daughter of the late Ray Paul Loudin and Mary Marie Sturm Loudin. On July 8, 1950 at Terra Alta, WV, she was married to Charles L. Daniels who survives. Also surviving is one son, Rev. Michael L. Daniels and wife Priscilla, of Terra Alta, WV. Two daughters, Jane A. Sine and husband Roger, of Point Marion, PA and Susan B. Bailey and husband Allen, of Fairmont, WV. Three brothers, John Loudin, of Theodore, AL, William Loudin, of New Carlisle, OH and Danny Loudin, of Norton, WV. Four sisters, Betty Kirkpatrick, of Cummings, GA, Margaret Ann Miller, of Sebastian, FL, Sara Hinkle, of Elkins, WV and Judy Hedrick, of Salem, OH. Five grandchildren, Rachel Lantz, Aaron and Alexis Daniels, Christopher and Jonathan Sine and seven great grandchildren also survive. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, James, Bobby Joe and Jennings Loudin and one sister, Nancy Loudin. Rev. Daniels graduated from the Fairmont School of Business and later the United Methodist Clergy Course of Study and had been a minister with the United Methodist Churches for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Alkire Chapter No. 10, Order of the Eastern Star of Keyser and the Flemington Senior Center and a former member of the Shinnston Garden Club. She was also a member of the Terra Alta First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. At 7:00 PM, Sunday, a Memorial Service will be conducted by members of Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 11, 2011 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. James E. Shepherd and Pastor James E. Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Rev. Daniels. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in the charge of the arrangements for Rev. Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Daniels.
