Rachel Anne Marple Adams, 79, a former resident of Valley Head, and a resident of Richmond Heights, OH passed from this life Wednesday morning, August 24, 2011 at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. She was born on Wednesday, April 6, 1932 at Valley Head, a daughter of the late Roscoe T. Marple and Mamie Snyder Marple. On April 16, 1954 at Elkins, she was married to Jennings K. Adams, who survives in Richmond Heights. Others left to cherish Rachel’s memory is her daughter, Vicki Hayenga and husband, Kevin of Willoughby, OH, her son, Randall K. Adams and wife, Cathy of Perry, OH, three grandchildren, Jeffrey Sheets, Shannon Adams, and Christopher Adams, one great granddaughter, Lola Horvath, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was one granddaughter, Jennifer Sheets, two brothers, John Marple and Augustus “Gusty” Marple, and two sisters, Elizabeth Marple and Mary Jean Hamrick. Rachel was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1950 and was a homemaker. A visitation will be held at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Valley Head on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 12 noon until 3 PM, the funeral hour. Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate and interment will follow at the Valley Head Cemetery.
