Opal Agatha Chewning Taylor, age 71 years, a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home, Inc. of Crystal Springs, passed away at 3:58 A.M. Wednesday March 30, 2011 in the Davis Memorial Hospital. She was born February 4, 1940 at Mill Creek, a daughter of the late Clarence Odel Chewning and Lucille Virginia Gear Chewning. She was married to David Clinton Taylor, who preceded her in death. Surviving is one brother, Pat Chewning and one sister Carolyn Leary and husband John, all of Mill Creek. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Roger Lee Chewning and one sister, Claris Chewning. Opal had attended the Light of the Valley Church at Mill Creek.
Friends may call from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Norma Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangments for Opal Agatha Chewning Taylor.
