Paula Cowgill, age 69 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born December 21, 1941 at Parkersburg, WV a daughter of the late Harold C. and Maxine Wilkes Kieffer. Surviving are two sons, Robert E. “Gene” Cowgill of Elkins and Douglas E. Cowgill of Montrose. One daughter, Barbara E. Robertson, Knoxville, TN, two brothers, Gene Kieffer, St. Clairsville, OH and Doug Kieffer of Florida and two granddaughters, Audrey Ruth Nitz and Emma Katharine Nitz also survive.
Paula was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School in Clarksburg and was employed as a Paramedic with the Randolph County Emergency Squad prior to her retirement.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 10th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Barry R. Moll officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Randolph County Emergency Squad, 2 Eleventh St., Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Paula. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Paula Cowgill.
