Mr. Lee Willard “Squeek” Young, Sr., age 72 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011. He was born May 6, 1938 in Elkins a son of the late Carl Kimble and Bonnie Lee Kimble of Indiana and Willard Denna Young. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his companion of 22 years, Tammy Smith, Elkins, three sons, Lee Willard “Bill” Young, Jr. and wife Peggy, Beverly, Gary W. Young and wife Sandy, Beverly and Anthony Young of Elkins. Two daughters, Pam Young Boyer and Peggy Young Blosser both of Beverly, five grandsons, Lee Young, III, Jeff and Pat Young, J.D. Blackburn and Justin Gibson, five granddaughters, Heather Lott and husband John, Kaci Young, Angie Young Sturdivant and husband Brent, Mindy Blosser Armentrout and husband Steve and the light of his life, Amayah Young, eight great grandchidlren, Tammy’s children Misty and Shelly and their children, two brothers, Arthur “June” Stewart and wife Joann, Winchester, VA and Bob Kimble and wife Linda of Harrisonburg, VA, two sisters, Penny Longville and husband Rich, Indiana, Carolyn Daff of Stewarts Draft, VA and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Young was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1956 and always looked forward to his High School Class Reunions. He was employed by Lab Craft in Beverly, National ACME in Cleveland, OH and retired from Colonial Mill Works in Beverly. He loved to karaoke every opportunity he had. He spent every Thursday at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center singing for the residents and was known for ending every song with “Clap or I”ll sing again”. He loved to hunt, being outdoors, singing and spending time with his family and friends.
Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 5th from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jack Howell and Rev. Stella Faye Moyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery near Elkins. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Lee Willard “Squeek” Young, Sr.
