Mr. Joseph Robert Shelton, age 70 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday morning, February 11, 2011 in the Davis Memorial Hospital. He was born June 2, 1940 at Fairmont, a son of the late Grover Cleveland Shelton and the late Madge Smith Shelton. On December 24, 1960 he was married to the former Doris Jean Plum who survives in Elkins. Also surviving are one son, Joseph Shelton, Jr., Elkins, one daughter, Kimberly Scott, Elkins, one grandchild, Ethan Shelton.
Mr. Shelton attended the schools of Taylor County and was employed as a mechanic for Colonial Court Service Station for twenty years. He attended the Gospel Light Tabernacle Church.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins. Rev. A.H. Belt will officiate and interment will follow. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Joseph Robert Shelton.
