BRADLEY JOHN RAMSEY, age 60 years, a resident of the Fork Mountain Community, Parsons, WV, departed this life Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2011 at the Emergency Dept. of Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV, surrounded by his family.
He was born Saturday, January 6, 1951 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late John William and Audrey Verlena Harper Ramsey. On February 24, 1978 at Irons Chapel Church in Kerens, WV, he was married to Pauletta Vandevender, who survives at Parsons
Also surviving are three children, Heather Nichole Ramsey and husband Russell Ellis of Bradfordwoods, PA, Daniel William Ramsey of Parsons and Erin Elaine Ramsey and Chad Pregley of Fairview, WV; one sister, Billie Ramsey Ketterman and husband T.J. of Kill Devil Hills, NC and several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1969, a 1971 graduate of Potomac State College and a 1973 graduate of West Virginia University. He was a former EMT for Tucker County. He was a former Police Officer for the City of Parsons and also served as Mayor for the City. He was an employee of the Tucker County Board of Education for over thirty three years, retiring in 2006.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM. A Private Celebration of Life will be conducted by The Rev. J. Michael Lantz and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to; Parsons Volunteer Fire Dept., 216 Main Street, Parsons, WV 26287; or Tucker County Animal Shelter, 215 First Street, Parsons, WV. 26287; St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
