Aneurin John “Bill” Williams, age 87 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Saturday morning October 29, 2011 at the Louis A. Johnson, VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born Tuesday, May 27, 1924 at Philadelphia, PA a son of the late Aneurin and Anna Mae Llwellyn Williams. On December 21, 1946 he was married to the former Alice Lillian Hess, who preceded him in death during 1998. Surviving are one daughter, Alice Ann Andrus and husband Pastor Ralph Andrus, Elkins; one son, Aneurin John Williams, Jr. and wife Harriet PA; four grandchildren, Kimberly Joy Mensforth and husband Blair; and Scott David Andrus, all of Canada; Brandon Williams and Ellie Hogentiler, both of PA; four great grandchildren, Courtney DaVonne; Curtis Aaron; and Lindsay Rochelle Mensforth; all of Canada and Kara Ellen Hogentiler, PA.
He attended the schools of Philadelphia; and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Air Force in the Philippines. He had worked as a technician with the Oil Burner Service, was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Williams’ request for cremation was honored. A Memorial Service will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 7 PM. Interment will follow at a later date in Philadelphia, PA.
