DESSIE WILDA PLUM PRICE MINER 1917-2011 Obituary
DESSIE WILDA PLUM PRICE MINER, age 93 years, a native of Tucker Co., and a resident of Elkins, WV, departed this life Monday evening November 7, 2011 at Nella’s Inc., of Crystal Springs.
She was born Saturday, December 1, 1917 at St. George, WV, a daughter of the late Albert A. and Maude Bohon Plum. She was twice married, first to Clifford Price, who preceded her in death June 28, 1965, and during 1972, she was married to Andy Miner, who preceded her in death October of 1977.
Surviving are one son, Clifford Price and wife Arlene of Parsons; one daughter, Carol Young of Chesapeake, VA; one sister, Leota Parsons of Holly Meadows; two grandchildren, Kay L. Farris and Clayton A. Price; three great grandchildren, Jason C. Goodwin, Corey Price and Amber Price; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are five brothers, Otto, Claude, Arthur, Lester and Johnny Plum; four sisters, Goldie Loughry, Decota Shahan, Marie Ludwick and Elsie Shupp and one grandson, William Robert Young.
She attended the Holly Meadows School and was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1937, during which time she won the Golden Horseshoe Award. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church at Parsons.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 1:30 PM. The Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
