REATIS FAY FANSLER MULLENAX, age 92 years, a resident of the Lead Mine Community, St. George, WV departed this life late Monday evening, January 2, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Linda Hedrick, surrounded by her family. She had been in declining health.
She was born Friday, March 21, 1919 at St. George, WV, a daughter of the late Orvile Earl Fansler and Blondie Bell Davis Fansler. On June 8, 1940 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Lawrence Edward Mullenax, who preceded her in death May 9, 1998. They had celebrated fifty eight years of marriage.
Surviving are one son, Ralph Dale Mullenax and wife Paula of Fairmont, WV; one daughter Linda Ellen Hedrick of Parsons, and fiance Junie Harper; six grandchildren, Ritchie Vanscoy, Ronnie Mullenax, Randy Mullenax, Donna Kuhn, Kevin Mullenax and Robbie Mullenax; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one son, Denzil Allen Mullenax; and one great great grandson, Rylan Axil Vanscoy.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1940. She was a homemaker. She loved her flowers and enjoyed crochet.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11 AM. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
