MINNIE LOUISE POLING ALBRIGHT, age 84 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Wednesday morning, December 21, 2011 at the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center surrounded by her family.
She was born Saturday, January 22, 1927 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Isaac Herman and Lena Mae Gardener Poling. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Albright Leighton and husband Paul, Clive, IA; Deborah Lane Jones Phillips and husband Brad, Elkins; two grandchildren, Emily Jones Phillips; and Michael Blair Leighton; one great grandson, Isaac Michael Phillips, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are one infant daughter, Sharon Sue Albright; six brothers, Harold; Cliff; Ted; Jim; Buck; and Ed Poling; six sisters, Rosa Harris; Helen Rossey; Margie Poling; Maggie Menear; Hazel Poling; and Cloe Poling and one great grandson, Eli Michael Phillips.
She attended the schools of Randolph County, had worked as a sales clerk for the former Montgomery Ward Company and retired in 1987 from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and loved sewing and crafts.
Mrs. Albright’s request for cremation was honored. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV. The Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley will officiate and interment of the cremains will follow. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 315 Kerens Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241 or to the Randolph County Cancer Support Group, P. O. Box 2361, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Mrs. Albright.
