Hilda Mae Lee, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born July 28, 1933 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Alva Harrison Smith and Reta Pearl Hyre Smith Hardesty. On October 7, 1950 she married Denzil Odell Lee who preceded her in death on January 9, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosaline Smith, Lucille Smith, Dorothy Weekly and Betty Watson and four brothers, Robert, James, Harold and Richard Smith. She is survived by one son, Denzil Lee and wife Linda of Buckhannon; one daughter, Shela Simmons of Buckhannon; six grandsons, Philip Simmons, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Bruce Wayne Lee of Clarksburg, WV, Justin Simmons, David Thomas Kincaid and Josh Simmons all of Buckhannon and Khori Simmons of PA; two granddaughters, Misty Dawn Corley and Talia Simmons both of Buckhannon; one great-grandson, Christopher Day of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Carlye Day and Jada Rayne Umble both of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, several great great nieces and nephews and several great great great nieces and nephews; special nieces, Connie Burr, Sharon Short and Virginia Booth all of Buckhannon and a special great great niece, Rachael Hanifan of Buckhannon. Mrs. Lee was a housewife. Friends will be received Monday, December 5, 2011 from 6-9 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery in Kanawha Head, WV.
