GENE F. HERBERT Gene F. Herbert, 70, of Philippi, died Sunday, January 16, in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, following a sudden illness. He was born January 5, 1941, at Griswold, Conn., a son of the late Charlotte (Williams) Herbert. On July 4, 1959, he married the former Antoinette T. “Toni” LaRose, who survives at Philippi. Also surviving are one daughter, Donna Attardo and husband, Robert, Spring Valley, Ca.; one son, Gene F. Herbert Jr. and Pam Amos, Philippi; four grandchildren, Gene “Geno” Herbert III, Vanessa Dean and husband, Randy, Lance Herbert and Maria Attardo; great grandchildren, Cody Herbert, Tucker Herbert, Alex Dean and Harley Dean. Mr. Herbert was a retired aviation repair quality control technician for Rogers Corp. and G.K.N. Chem-tronics. He was an avid Harley – Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 21, at the St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Jim O’Connor, celebrant. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
