OBITUARY: WALDO E. SHAHAN Waldo Edwin Shahan, 85, of Rt. #1, Belington, died Friday, November 18, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness. He was born October 10, 1936, a son of the late Chester and Ruth (Delauder) Shahan. On January 6, 1947, he married the former Hazel G. Shaw, who survives at their home at Rt. #1, Belington Also surviving are three sisters, Lucille Johnson and Patty Canfield, both of Belington, Donna Jean Taylor, Norton; three brothers, Frank Shahan, Ronald Shahan and Larry Shahan, all of Belington; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Wanda Compton, Shirley Shahan, Rochella Shahan and Dorothy Tincher and by three brothers, Lee Shahan, Troy Shahan and Gene Shahan. Mr. Shahan retired as a metallurgist from Timken Roller Bearing in Canton, Oh. following 31 years service. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. He attended the Lambert Chapel United Methodist Church near Belington and a Methodist Church in Canton. He was a member of the Belington E. M. S. where he had served as a driver. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 22, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Tuesday.
