Dora Marie Thompson 1938-2013 Obituary
Dora Marie Thompson, 74, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life early Sunday morning, February 17, 2013 at Davis Memorial Hospital. Dora was born, Tuesday, August 9, 1938 in Elkins, a daughter of the late Jeffie Oren Rowan and Lola Bell Rowan. In 1957, in Baltimore MD, she married Kermit Edward Thompson who preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are two children: David Wayne Thompson of Elkins and Carol Thornhill and husband Charles III of Montrose, two grandchildren: Amber Thornhill of Washington DC and Matthew Thornhill and wife Emily of Montrose, one great granddaughter: Emma Grace Thornhill of Montrose. Dora worked for the Randolph County Senior Center as a care taker for fifteen years. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and loved doing community service, especially serving and working at The Good Shepherd. Mrs. Thompson’s request for cremation will be honored.
