Doyle Eugene Shreve, Sr., 78, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life Friday evening, September 6, 2013 at the Davis Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. Doyle was born Monday, October 15, 1934 in Mill Creek, a son of the late Thurman Doyle Shreve and Maggie Elizabeth McCauley Shreve. He was married to the former Dorothy Vera Payne who preceded him in death. Left to cherish Doyle’s memory are five children: William “Bill” Shreve and wife Sue of Maryland, Bonnie Shreve of NC, Doyle Shreve Jr. and Susan Loudenslager, both of Beverly and Lisa Markley and husband Joseph of MD, three brothers: Frank, Robert and Richard Shreve and four sisters: Wanda Hamrick, Barbara Hamrick, Reeda Francis and Mary Clyburn, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding Doyle in death besides his parents and wife were two sisters: Josephine Bennett and Virginia Craft and one infant brother. Doyle attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked for the Western Maryland and CSX Railroads for forty-six years. He was a member of the American Legion. Doyle will be remembered for being a family man and enjoying cook outs, crab feasts and other events with his family. A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6PM-8PM and Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 2PM-4PM the funeral hour. Doyle’s request for cremation will then be honored. Inurnment will take place at a later date during a private family service in Glen Haven Mausoleum in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memory of Doyle to the Cancer Care Center 801 Harrison Avenue Elkins, WV 26241.
