Francis Oliver Frank Hoover 1938-2014 Obituary
Francis Oliver “Frank” Hoover, 75, passed from this life Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2014 at the Valentine Assisted Living Facility in Beverly. Frank was born Monday, November 14, 1938 in Elkins, a son of the late Jess Preston Hoover and Etrula Ruth “Koot” Lantz Hoover. Left to cherish Frank’s memory are five siblings, Gary Hoover and wife Arlene of Valley Head, Jack Hoover and wife Lorraine of Rupert, Arch Hoover and wife Jewel of Becky’s Creek, Cheryl Moore and husband Leonard of Valley Head and Beverly Lantz and husband Sam of Wheeling and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceding Frank in death besides his parents were two siblings, Jessie Hoover and Vicky Shreves. Frank attended the schools of Randolph County and worked as a coal miner for the Bethlehem Steel Coal Company. Frank was a Methodist by faith and attended the Valley Head United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going to church and singing and loved visiting people. Visitation will be held at the Valley Head United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 12:30PM-2:00PM, the funeral hour. Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate and interment will follow in the Valley Head Cemetery.
