Elvira Yosia Keller, 89, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2014 at Valentine Personal Care in Elkins. Born Sunday, March 8, 1925 in Norton, Elvira was the daughter of the late William and Mary Elish Yosia. She was twice married. In October of 1952, she married Merrill Collins who preceded her in death in July of 1971. Then, in October of 1976, she married Donald Keller, to whom she was married to for thirty-two years and preceded her in death. Elvira is survived by two sisters, Genevieve Davis of Jimtown and Elsie Kelly of Morgantown, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a sister, Helen Dingman and three brothers-in-law, Robert Dingman, Paul Kelly, and Jack Davis. Elvira attended the one room school at Fairhope and graduated from Coalton High School with the class of 1942. During World War II, she worked in Hawaii for the United States Government. When she moved back east, she was hired by B.F. Goodrich in Marion, OH where she worked until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, travel, antiques, and going to auctions. She will be greatly missed by her family. At her request, Elvira’s remains were cremated. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Harpster, OH.
