Robert Bernard “Buck” Reilly, 68, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at home. Buck was born, Tuesday, September 4, 1945 in Coalton, an adopted son of William and Lilly Watts Reilly and Katherine Jean Reilly and a biological son of Paul Reilly and Ina Kittle Lanford. On January 11, 1980, in Beverly, he married the former Holly S. Hughes who survives in Elkins. Also left to cherish Buck’s memory are two children, Leo Patrick Reilly and wife Amanda and Phillip Bernard Reilly and Ashlee Kincaid, special nephew, Bill Reilly of OH, two grandchildren, Killian and Cora Reilly, four sisters, Alice Reilly Phillips, Patricia Lanford Rossi and husband Jim, Linda Lanford and Donna Lanford Long and husband Bruce, one brother, Larry Reilly and wife Sharon, two brothers in law, Leroy Chewning and Kevin Madden, nieces and nephews, Tiffany Phillips, Anna and Jamie Rossi, Jeff Chewning, Cindy Hutton, Kim Ross, Candace Roach, Vickie Klinger, Joshua Madden and Derek Madden, his dog Shep, “therapy cat” Purr-purr, and many close friends both long time and recent. Preceding Buck in death besides his parents were two sisters, Carolyn Reilly Chewning and Kathryn Lanford Madden, two brothers, William Joe Reilly and Mark Lanford and one aunt, Kathryn “Jean” Reilly. Prior to becoming disabled in 1990, Buck was a construction worker for twenty-six years and worked for the Local 984 Laborers Union. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1135 for approximately twenty years, the Mountain Model A Club, MARC-model A Restorers Club and MAFCA-model A Ford Club of America. Buck will always be remembered as an antique car restorer, a fine wood worker and an avid reader. He loved the outdoors and treasured time with his grandchildren. Buck was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Elkins. Buck’s request for cremation was honored. A celebration of Buck’s life will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00P at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Elkins. Rev. Dr. Peter Vial and Rev. Kevin Starcher will officiate.
