Nicholas “Nick” Joel Haddix, 32, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected. Nick was born Thursday, December 24, 1981 in Elkins a son of Rodney “Pete” Haddix and Cathy Lorraine Thompson Haddix who survive in Elkins. He is survived by his beloved girlfriend of seven years, Leesa Ice. Others left to cherish Nick’s memory is his sister, Connie Lea Boggs and husband, Doug and their children, Linlee, Ryan, Ben, and Griffin all of Elkins, his brother, Rodney “Ted” Haddix and wife, Abby and their children Hannah, Tristen, and Emerson all of Beverly, his maternal grandparents, Myron and Annabelle Thompson of Elkins, a special aunt and uncle, Barbara and Willie Arbogast, his two dogs, Taunto and Gunner, and many friends. Preceding Nick in death was his paternal grandparents, Ross and Nancy Haddix. Nick was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 2000 where he played football, ran track, and was an All-state Catcher in baseball. At the time of his death, Nick worked as a supervisor for ATOS. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing softball in the Parsons league, and spending time with family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Friday from 5 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11AM. Rev. William McAllister will officiate and interment will follow at St. Brendan Cemetery in Elkins.
