Loretta Mae Mick Poling, 68, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life, Sunday, August 10, 2014 while camping in Dry Fork. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected. Loretta born Sunday, July 21, 1946 in McClellandtown, PA, a daughter of the late Gordon Lawrence Mick and Faye Loretta Hall Mick. She was married to John Poling who preceded her in death. Left to cherish Loretta’s memory are one daughter, Kimberly Ann Poling, one grandson, Joshua David Poling both of Parsons, seven siblings, Hazel Price of Bretz, Phyllis Barnhart of MN, Charles Mick of OH, Dale Mick of VA, June Evans of PA, John Mick of PA and Earl Mick of CO and long time companion Steven Hines of Moorefiled. Preceding Loretta in death besides her parents and husband was one son Michael Allen Poling, one sister Shirley Bartholomew. She was a graduate of the Parsons High School class of 1964. Loretta loved reading, gardening and tending to her flowers. She also thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors and camping. Loretta will always be remembered for being a hard worker and loved to take care of the elderly. Loretta’s request for cremation will be honored. A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 1:00PM in Parsons City Cemetery. Reverend James Snyder will officiate and inurnment will follow.
