Paul Barb Jr., age 72, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Paul was born on Thursday, March 5, 1942 in Marlinton, a son of the late Paul Barb Sr. and Etta Mae Bailor Barb. He was married to Hazel Marie Moore Barb who preceded him in death in 1974. Left to cherish Paul’s memory are his children, Cindy Barb and companion, Junior Howell of Dailey, Audrey Carter and husband, Michael of Huttonsville, Jamie Barb and wife, Wendy, Joe Barb and wife, Michelle of Elkins, Regina Summerfield and husband, Delmas of Elkins, Melissa Taylor and husband, Jake of Durbin, Sylvia Barb and companion Tyler of California, George Studer and wife, Linda of Beverly, Lindsey Studer of Elkins, Ryan Barb and companion Cassie Tuning of Elkins, and Robert Tincher of Marlinton, thirteen grandchildren, Courtney Barb, Dakota Howell, Cheryl Pritt, John Pritt, Jerry Paul, Steven Pritt, Ethan Scott, Amber Scott, Hannah Wratchford, Felicity Barb, Zachary Bennett, Kristen Harrington, and Andrew Harrington, eleven great grandkids, Allyssa Scott, Hunter Wratchford, Emilee Wratchford, Jordan Bennett, Savannah Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Bailey Pritt, John Paul Jr., Blaise Price, Marc Price and Addison Mayle, seven siblings, Virginia Dolan and husband, Charlie of Hillsboro, Barbara Johnson and husband, George of Mill Creek, Donald Barb and wife, Lynn of Marlinton, Randy Barb and wife, Myrtle of Beckley, Tom Barb and wife, Margaret of Marlinton, Carl Barb and wife, Clarabelle of Hillsboro, and Bob Barb of Hillsboro, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Wilfong and his great granddaughter, Haylin Barb. Paul attended the schools of Pocahontas County, and had worked at Denmar State Hospital and Coastal Lumber Company of Dailey. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, tinkering with lawn mowers, “horse trading”, watching westerns, country and gospel music, and his cat, Tom. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and he will be greatly missed. Paul’s request for cremation was honored. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Brick Church Cemetery.
