Gladys “Ruby” Fincham Brown, 79, a resident of Valley Bend, passed from this life Monday, October 20, 2014 at home. Ruby was born Thursday, September 26, 1935 in Adolph, a daughter of the late John Goldie Fincham and Ethel Gay Salisbury Fincham. On June 4, 1955, in Baltimore, MD, she married Robert Brown who survives in Valley Bend. Also left to cherish Ruby’s memory are three daughters, Janice Brown of MD, Jacqueline Baker and husband Dale of TN and June Young and husband Michael of MD, two brothers, Kermit “Jack” Fincham and Gerald “Jerry” Fincham, three sisters, Thelma Lanehart, Goldie Fincham and Bonnie Jett, six grandchildren, Roy Furrow, Courtney, Casey and Brady Baker and Matthew and Mitchell Stewart, and two great grandchildren, Alexa McClaran and Sadie Stewart. Preceding Ruby in death besides her parents were seven siblings, Luther, Andrew, Roy, Lloyd, Christina and Katherine Mary Fincham and Opal Armstrong and one grandchild, Lindsey Stewart. Ruby was a dedicated Mother and homemaker. She loved sitting on the porch and watching humming birds. Ruby also enjoyed taking care of her flowers, solving word search puzzles and playing Rummikub. Ruby’s request for cremation was honored.
