Ressie Marie Scott Shreve 1929-2014 Obituary
Ressie Marie Scott Shreve, 84, a resident of Mabie, passed from this life Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Ressie was born Monday, December 30, 1929 in Hemlock, a daughter of the late Homer Holt Scott and Edith Mae Currence Scott. In October of 1947 she married Junior Edward Shreve who preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are twelve children, Larry Shreve of Cassity, Janet Rucker of Dailey, Nancy Keffer and husband Gene of Montrose, Jerry Shreve and wife Wanda of Mill Creek, David Shreve and wife Bobbie of Cassity, Diane Rucker of Cassity, Thomas Shreve of Cassity, Brenda Shifflett and companion Clifford Harris of Valley Bend, Jesse Shreve of Cassity, Randy Shreve and companion Norma Harris of Cassity, George Shreve of Elkins and Edward “Bug” Shreve and wife Rhonda of Mill Creek, two brothers, Meredeth “Equalbud” and Melton Scott, one sister, Frances Minear, twenty eight grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Preceding Ressie in death besides her parents and husband was one son, Gary Lynn Shreve, one grandson, Lee Currence, one granddaughter, Christina Wilson, two great grandsons, Marshall Scott and Austin Finlen, two brothers, Mason and Dick Scott, one sister, Julie Mahans, one infant sister, one son in law, Teddy Rucker and one daughter in law Judy Shreve. Ressie was a fantastic homemaker who enjoyed gardening and canning. She was only thirty eight years old when her husband Junior passed away and did an incredible job as a single mother of thirteen. Ressie loved to spend time with friends and family and enjoyed having big dinners. Ressie always put everyone elses needs before her own and will be sadly miss by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Saturday from 5P-7P. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2:00P at Fincham Chapel Church. Pastor Tristen Tenney will officiate and interment will follow in the Fincham Chapel Cemetery in Adolph.
