Norma “Jean” Mallow, 71, a resident of Montrose, passed from this life Saturday, December 20, 2014 at home surrounded by family. She was born Wednesday, November 10, 1943 in Elkins, a daughter of the late Hobart Mallow and Margie Marie Bodkin Mallow. She had never married. Left to cherish Jean’s memory is a brother, Jerry Mallow and wife, Marlene of Montrose, a sister, Ann Mallow of Beverly, and several nieces and nephews which she had always considered to be her grandchildren. Preceding Jean in death was one brother, Don Mallow, one sister, Sue Varner, and a brother-in-law, David Varner. Jean attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked for Davis Medical Center as a food service worker. She was known as a hard worker, and everyone that knew her, loved her. She loved all outdoor work including gardening and mowing grass. Jean’s request for cremation will be honored, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Care Corporation, 169 Diamond Street, Elkins, WV 26241.
