ANNA MARIE DANIELS KITTLE, age 96 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Friday afternoon, February 11, 2011 at her home.
She was born Sunday, November 29, 1914 at Beverly, WV a daughter of the late Henry Harper Daniels and Vie Ellen Isner Daniels. On November 21, 1936 at Beverly, WV she was married to George Henry Kittle, who preceded her in death November 10, 1998. They had celebrated sixty-two years of marriage. Surviving are one son, Keith Gordon Kittle and wife Judy, Grayson, KY; two daughters, Karen Ann Knaggs and husband Sonny and Donna Jean Barger and husband Donald, all of Elkins; two brothers, Warren Thomas Daniels and wife Mary, Elkins; Dale Harper Daniels and wife Phyllis, Beverly; one sister, Mildred Ervin, Hollywood, MD; grandchildren, Tonya Barrett, Hamlin; Lisa Powell, Elkins; Michael Knaggs and wife Stacy, Morgantown; Deann Cooke, Durham, NC; Danica Wilburn and husband Steve; and Devin Barger and wife Carrie; all of Morgantown; great grandchildren; Stephanie and Ian Barrett, Hamlin; Tyler and Logan Powell, Elkins; Henry and George Cooke, Durham, NC; Matthew and Garrett Gorby; Hayley Wilburn; Miranda and Caleb Barger; Kaylee and Ayden Knaggs, all of Morgantown; great great grandson, Sebastian, Hamlin; special nephew, John Poulson; and special caregiver, Nancy Pingley.
Preceding her in death are one infant son, Shirley Dale Kittle; three brothers, John Lowell; Ralph Arnold; and Charles Daniels; and four sisters, Opal Ash; Iva Irene Vanscoy; Gertrude Kyle; and Willajean Hamrick.
She attended the schools of Beverly, was an accomplished quilter, an avid gardener, enjoyed her flowers and loved watching and feeding the birds, especially the cardinals. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed caring for everyone and having special holidays for all. She was a fifty year member of the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church and the Elkins Randolph County Senior Center.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Sunday, February 13, 2001 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, the funeral hour. The Rev. James Murphy will officiate and entombment will follow at the Maplewood Memorial Mausoleum at Elkins, WV at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Mark Epperson officiating. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250.
