CAROLYN JOYCE MITCHELL JONES, age 75 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV departed this life Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
She was born Wednesday, September 18, 1935 at Hambleton, WV, a daughter of the late Warren Dale and Evelyn Geneva Pennington Mitchell. She was married to Kenneth Glenn Jones, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Randall David Jones of Belington, WV; one sister, Shirley Mitchell Atkinson of Port Orange, FL; one grandson, Christopher James Jones of MI; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is one infant son.
She attended the schools of Tucker County and she was a graduate of Melbourne High School of Melbourne, FL with the Class of 1955. She was a former employee of the Tucker County Court House, working as an assessor. She was a former Post Mistress for the Hambleton Post Office.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. On Wednesday, February 23, 2011, Carolyn will be moved to the Pentecostal Church of God at Hambleton, WV, where friends may call from 1 until 2 PM the funeral hour. The Rev. J.R. Mayle will officiate and interment will follow at the McNeeley Cemetery at Hendricks, WV.
