VIRGINIA ORR WILSON, age 92 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life late Thursday evening, March 24, 2011 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins, WV.
She was born Tuesday, September 3, 1918 at Thomas, WV., a daughter of the late John Wesley Cousin and Gladys Digman Cousin and stepmother, Hazel Cousin. She was twice married. First to Rexel Vere Orr, who preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1945, and on October 10, 1949 in New Jersey, she was married to John Harry Wilson, who preceded her in death May 5, 2002.
Surviving are one son, David J. Orr and wife Donna of Parsons, two daughters, Carole Orr Daniel of Chattanooga, Tenn., Judy Orr Ingham and husband Larry of Parsons, five stepchildren, Betty Moutz, Billie Jean Shreve, Joan Graziani, Lynn Hilliard and Rexel Orr, Jr.; two brothers, Albert and Thomas Cousin; five sisters, Freda Kovach, Jacqueline Thompson, Patty Wiley, Dorothy Eileen Heldreth and Gearldine Barger; thirteen grandchildren, Karen Lee, Dr. Debora Daniel, Paul Daniel, Jr., Melanie Kelly, Susan Heckler, Jade Knick, Hiedi Orr, Jeremy Lawrence, Melanie Ambrose, Melissa Gibson, Mary Cordell, Mark Ingham and Michael Ingham; twenty four great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are four stepchildren, Glenn Orr, Mary Lee Schneider, Laura Vere Lambert and Robert Orr; three brothers, John “Jack” Cousin, Rudy Cousin and Robert Cousin; and three sisters, Vivian Hill Bennett, Ellasue Schoff and Halene Blosser.
She attended the schools at Thomas, WV. She was an employee of the former Rennix Grocery and A & P Grocery Store at Parsons, retiring after thirty years of service. She was a member of the Parsons Athletic Boosters, and she attended the First United Methodist Church at Parsons.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Monday March 28, 2011 at 11 AM. The Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Tucker Co. Senior Center or Hospice Care.
