MARLENE DENISE CURRENCE LLOYD, age 38 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Sunday morning, April 10, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She fought a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Sunday, December 17, 1972 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Marlie Marvin Currence and Anna B. Watson Currence. On December 21, 1999 at Elkins, WV she was married to William “Shannon” Lloyd, who survives at Elkins, WV.
Also surviving are two sons, Christian Matthew Lloyd and Nevin Riley Lloyd, both at home; seven brothers, Dana Scott and Stephanie, Chenoweth Creek; Marlie Currence, Elkins; Mason “Buck” Scott and Donna, Danny Scott, all of Valley Bend; Curtis Scott and Paula, Norton; Julian Currence, NC; Charlie Currence, Fairmont; five sisters, Deena Bender; Weston; Judy Himes and Paul, Elkins; Lesa Scott and Junior, Buckhannon; Phyllis Weese, Elkins; Mary Lou Currence, Mill Creek; her father and mother in law, William and Sheila Lloyd, brother in law, Travis and Melissa Lloyd, all of Elkins; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She attended the schools of Randolph County, was a lumber grader having worked for Armstrong World Industries at Beverly. She was a devoted mother and loving wife.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 2 PM. The Rev. Eric Pennington will officiate and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
