WANDA JUNE BRIGHT WILFONG, age 72 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Wednesday morning, April 13, 2011 at Cortland Acres at Thomas, WV.
She was born Wednesday, December 21, 1938 at Limerock, WV, Tucker Co, a daughter of the late Garber Lee Bright and Evelyn Ruth Jackson Bright. On May 31, 1957 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Keith “Fluke” Wilfong, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Brian Keith Wilfong and wife Christina of Blackman Flats; one daughter, Diane Elaine Wilfong of Odenton, MD; five sisters, Dorothy Day, Eleanor Carr and husband Robert and Betty Cogar, all of MD, Edith Bonner of Elkins, Carole Kendall and husband Kirby of MD; four grandchildren, Jessica, Kaleb, Daniele and Taylor and one great grandchild, Damian.
Preceding her in death is one sister, Helen Elaine Moran.
She was a graduate of Mountaineer High School with the Class of 1957. She was an employee of the former Dorman Mills until its closing. She worked as a former Clerk for the City of Parsons and she retired as the Deputy County Clerk for the Tucker County Court House. She enjoyed camping and fishing and she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 1 PM. The Rev. Dick Gadd will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.
