DOROTHY VIRGINIA COFFMAN PRICE, age 90 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV, where she made her home with her daughter in law, Hazel Price, departed this life Friday morning, April 22, 2011 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV.
She was born Sunday, April 3, 1921 at Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Clare Coffman and Eliza Grace Nestor Coffman. On October 4, 1941 at Mt. Lake Park, MD, she was married to O. Woodrow Price, who preceded her in death April 13, 1999. They had celebrated fifty seven years of marriage.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Lee “Butch” Price and Michael Lynn Price and wife Eileen, all of Parsons, one daughter, Janet Marie Colson and husband Owen of SC; one daughter in law, Hazel Price; one sister, Belva Canfield; four grandchildren, Theresa, Ronnie, Donny and Christina and five great grandchildren, Logan, Adam, Dalton, Jackson and Jacob.
Preceding her in death are one son, Larry Price and one daughter in law, Patricia Price; four sisters, Anna Coffman, Icie Haller, Delphia Freeman and Dessie Auvil.
She attended the schools of Barbour County. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church. She was a former Dispatcher for the Tucker Co. Emergency Services. She loved gardening, word search, puzzles and quilting.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11 AM. The Rev. J. Michael Lantz will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Gilman.
