LEE LONG, age 74 years, a resident of Hendricks, WV departed this life early Friday morning, April 29, 2011 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV.
He was born Saturday, March 20, 1937 at Jenningston, WV, a son of the late Paul Bunyon Long and Alma Waybright Long Nestor Paugh.
Surviving are four brothers, Frank W. Long, Robert W. “Bill” Long, both of Parsons, Paul Douglas Long and wife Virginia of Hendricks and Dennis “Denny” Long of OH; four sisters, Ruby Huffman and husband Bob of Dry Fork, Judy Long of Calif., Trudy Helmick and husband Rusty of Hambleton and Nancy Weitzel of OH.; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Boyd and Steve Long and one sister, Pauline Grace Long Helmick Carr.
He attended the Hamrick School. He was a Timber Cutter for the United States Forest Service for over thirty years until his retirement. He was a life member of N.R.A. He was an avid outdoorsman, camping, ginseng, hunting, fishing and ramping.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11:30AM. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Long Cemetery at Otter Creek, WV.
