Wayne K. Lipscomb, age 75 years, a resident of Morgantown, WV departed this life Monday May 2, 2011 at his home.
He was born October 28, 1935 at St. George, WV a son of the late Edward J. Lipscomb and Cora Helmick Lipscomb.
Wayne is survived by his wife Betty Jane Lipscomb; children Jimmy W. Lipscomb, Morgantown; Lesa R. Snyder and husband Alan, Aurora; and Tammy J. Dalton, Morgantown; one brother Sam Lipscomb, St. George; six grandchildren Adam Lipscomb and wife Heather; Zachary Lipscomb; Amanda Lipscomb Harteis and husband Jerrod; Wyatt Snyder; Emily Snyder; and Tyler Dalton; and two great-grandchildren Addison and Noah.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Lipscomb; Virgie Lipscomb; Marge Tucker; Freda ‘Vick’ Chipps; Ruth Beamer; Warren Lipscomb; Cliff Lipscomb; and Cleo Vandevender.
Wayne retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 152 with more than 35 years of service. Wayne served in the United States Air Force and was a Life Member of the Brookhaven Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Thursday May 5, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5-8pm Friday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor, Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Watring Cemetery at St. George, WV.
