JUANITA ROSALIE LIPSCOMB CHEWNING, age 89 years, a former resident of Mabie, WV and more recently a resident of Warren, Ohio, departed this life early Wednesday morning, June 8, 2011 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She was born Wednesday, December 14, 1921 at Parsons, WV a daughter of the late Earl and Susan Lay Lipscomb. She was married to Chester Lee Chewning, who preceded her in death July 5, 1996. Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Jean Wolfe and husband Kenneth, Warren, OH; one sister, Patricia Hawkins and husband Owen, FL; two grandsons, Kenneth Wolfe, Jr. and wife Marlene, Ooltewah, TN; Jeffrey Wolfe, High Point, NC and four great grandchildren, Renden; Logan; Marshall; and Amanda Wolfe.
Preceding her in death are two brothers, James R. and Virgel Lipscomb; and two sisters, Madalyn Phillips and Jean Burton.
Juanita was a retired LPN, having worked at the Davis Memorial Hospital, was a member of the VFW Womens Auxiliary, was a Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting and cooking.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 9 AM to 11 AM, the funeral hour at which time her grandson, The Rev. Kenneth Wolfe, Jr. will celebrate her life. Interment will follow at the Rowan Memorial Cemetery at Mabie, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 1815 West Market Street, Suite 301, Akron, OH 44313.
