MARY FRANCES HEAD, age 66 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life, Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at her home. She had been in her usual health, and death was unexpected.
She was born Friday, March 2, 1945 at Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late William Doyle and Anna Elizabeth Pritchard Head. She had never married.
Surviving are cousins, Mary Knox and husband Don, of Bel Air, MD; Robert & Joan Baker, Becky Whiteman, Patricia Baker, and David Baker all of Elkins, and her special care giver, Tiffany Delauder.
Preceding her in death besides her parents are aunt Louise Hicks, her stepmother Norma Head, one sister, Elizabeth Conner and one step sister, Georgiana Nolle.
She graduated from high school at Sparrows Point, MD, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elkins. Mary was a member of DELPHIA REBEKAH LODGE No. 62 of Elkins and the American Legion Auxiliary # 44 of Philippi. She was a former member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Mary was a volunteer for the Barbour County Strutters Twirlette Group.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 11 to 1 PM, the funeral hour. The Rev. Nancy Stevens will officiate and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
