LOUIE BELLE CANFIELD HART, age 96 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Monday afternoon, September 19, 2011 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV.
She was born Saturday, May 29, 1915 at Montrose, WV a daughter of the late Alba B. and Effie B. Bright Canfield. On March 26, 1932 at Elkins, WV she was married to Arthur Lee Hart, who preceded her in death October 15, 1980. Surviving are one son, Robert Lee Hart and wife Joan Shrader Hart, Petersburg; one daughter, V. “Madge” Weese, Catlett, VA; one sister, Izetta Canfield Arbogast, Circleville; five grandchildren, Kellie R. Weese; Kimberly A. Weese Krzywicki and husband Raymond; Gary L. Hart; Charles L. Hart and wife Debra Henry Hart; Susan E. Hart Doczi and husband Michael; eleven great grandchildren, Jacob; and Caleb Todd; Ashleigh; Tyler; and Hanna Krzywicki; Jessica D.; and Eric L. Hart; and Michael; Noah; Chase; and Aden Doczi and long time friends, David and Ruth Harrold, Elkins.
Preceding her in death are one son in law, Norman Weese; six brothers, Douglas E.; Ronald L.; Woodrow W.; Virgil; Bernard G.; and Junior Canfield; two sisters, Leecy Canfield Phillips; and Alletta Canfield Thomfield; and one granddaughter in law, Linda Hart.
She attended the one-room Ivy Hill School at Montrose; had worked for the former Reidboard Brothers; was a homemaker; was a volunteer for Good Shepherd Ministries; was a member of the Elkins-randolph County Senior Center, the Kerens Rebekah Lodge # 292, and was a founding member of the Faith Baptist Church at Beverly. Louie along with her husband loved to help anyone that needed help in their community.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Friday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Bill Hopkins will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
