Carl Denver Lantz, age 89, of Clarksville, TN, died Friday, March 8, 2013 in Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville. He was born August 4, 1923 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Samuel and Virgie Manley Lantz. On May 13, 1943 he married Imogene Reid who preceded him in death on December 15, 1997. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Arthur Lantz and one sister, Thelma Chase. He is survived by two daughters, Paulette Sue Stone and husband Lindon of Buckhannon and Starlene Howes and husband Wayne of Clarksville; three sons, Danny W. Lantz and wife Nancy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Clyde D. Lantz and wife Sharon and Leonard K. Lantz and wife Rose all of Buckhannon and seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Lantz served in the US Army during WW II and received a Purple Heart with 2 oak leaf clusters. He retired from Bethlehem Steel. Friends will be received Friday, March 15, 2013 from 1-2 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
