On April 9, 2013, Heaven welcomed a new angel, Virginia Baxa. She was born December 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Delia and Charles Cade of Gaines, WV. She was the wife of Arie R. Baxa whom preceded her in death on March 1, 2006. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Redmond and husband Everette of Matthews, NC and Juanita Baxa of Buckhannon, WV; one son, David L. Baxa of Bluefield, WV; two granddaughters, Emmy Msaitif of Buckhannon and Elizabeth Baxa of Bluefield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Danny R. Baxa; four brothers, Robert, Billy Harold and Charles Cade along with three sisters Mary Rollins, Marie Shipman and Eleanor Van Meter. Her two surviving sisters are Goldie Nutter of Clarksburg, WV and Helen Hutson of Salem, WV. She is survived by one aunt, Margaret Blake of Glenville, WV. Virginia and her husband Arie owned and operated the Knotty Pine Restaurant from 1969 to 1981. In the last days of her life she was cared for in her home by her loved ones and some special people from St. Joseph’s Hospice. Also, making visits to her home was Rev. Donald Butcher, whom gave her and her family spiritual support. Virginia will always be remembered for her kindness to all and for her love of her family and friends. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gaines. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
