Thomas E. Hoy, age 71, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born November 7, 1941 in Plainfield, NJ, a son of the late Raymond Francis Hoy and Ruth Thatcher Collum. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law and best friend, Bud Hotaling. On July 23, 1966 he married Wanda Smith who survives. Also surviving are one son, David Hoy of Buckhannon; two daughters, Christine Flanagan and husband Patrick and Lisa Quici both of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Robbie, Joey and Danny Quici all of Buckhannon and Tommy Hoy of Levittown, PA; one step grandson, Drew Quici of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Vanessa Quici of Buckhannon; former son-in-law, Robert Quici of Buckhannon; two brothers, Raymond Hoy and wife Phyllis of Berlin, MA and Dale Hoy and wife Rita of Corpus Christi, TX; three sisters, Georgeann Rigney and husband Bill of Levittown, Karen Mancuso and husband Larry of Thorofare, NJ and Janie DiGiacomo and husband Gary of Wyndmoor, PA; two brother-in-laws, Robert Smith and wife Mary Lee of Ashton, IL and Clinton Smith of Oceana, WV; four sister-in-laws, Lucille Pingilley and husband Don of Cheboygan, MI, Emma Hotaling of Herkimer, NY, Carol Mathison and husband Dan of Alburgh, VT and Joann Smith of Hilltop, WV; also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hoy was a technician for Brother International. He served with the US Marine Corps from 1959-1962. He loved his grandchildren, the Marine Corps and Notre Dame (GO IRISH). Friends will be received at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home, Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Randall Roy officiating. Burial will follow at 3 PM in the Harrah Cemetery at Backus Mt., WV. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
