Fonzo Vincent, Jr., age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his home. He was born February 26, 1928 in Mt. Gay, WV, a son of the late Fonzo Edward and Virgie Allen Vincent. On April 12, 1947 he married Pearl Smith who survives. Also surviving are one son, K. David Vincent and wife Vicki of Buckhannon; three daughters, Sandra Grubbs and husband Jack and Sonja Lynn Carlson both of Knoxville, TN and Nancy Sanders and husband Jim of Mt. Clare, WV; seven grandsons, Brandon Vincent and wife Aimee of Ashburn, VA, Mitchell Vincent and wife Rebecca of Hurricane, WV, Jay Poling and wife Teresa of Sutton, WV, Marc Poling and wife Dianna and Adam Grubbs both of Knoxville, Ben Carlson of Atlanta, GA and Bryan Sanders and wife Christie of Anmoore, WV; two granddaughters, Lora McCarter and husband Jason of Knoxville and Jennifer Geibel and husband Greg of Pittsburgh, PA; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Edward Vincent and three sisters, Margie McNeely, Mollie Lorain Trent and Virginia Fern Bragg. Mr. Vincent was a Supervisor for Upshur Coals Corp. He served in the US Army during WW II and was an Ordained Deacon and Attended the Christian Fellowship Church. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels, the Rev. Donald Butcher and Frank Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. The Buckhannon VFW post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
