Rosie Mae Johnson, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at her home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was born September 5, 1934 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Walter and Millie Alkire Tharp. On November 20, 1954 she married Robert Johnson who survives. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Barbara Norman of Buckhannon; one son, Michael Johnson and wife Lisa of NJ; one granddaughter, Rebecca Norman of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Ray Norman of Buckhannon and Robert Johnson of NJ; two great granddaughters, Olivia Hite of Buckhannon and Lilly Cross of Elkins, WV; two great grandsons, Nathan Kelley and Landon Hyre both of Buckhannon; two sisters, Stella Tharp and Emma Scheeler and husband Roland all of NJ; two brothers, Junior Tharp and Bobby Tharp and wife Barbara all of NJ and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Leroy Tharp. At Mrs. Johnson request it will be a private service. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
