Linda Lane Collins, 70, of Rt. #1, Philippi, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, following an unexpected illness. She was born November 21, 1942 at Philippi, a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Fannie Elizabeth (Collins) Collins. On March 17, 1962, she was married to Richard Collins, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2001. Surviving are four daughters, Lou Shawn Booth and companion, Karl Ball, Grafton, Debbie Riddle and husband, Kenneth, Thornton, Pamela Rennee McCumbers and companion, Kevin DeBerry, Kingwood, Lisa Lynn Collins and companion, Brent Mayle, Philippi; four sons, Riley Allan Collins and wife, Elizabeth, Malvern, OH, Richard Lee Collins and wife, Melinda, Uniontown, PA, Craig Steven Collins and wife, Krissy, Morgantown, Brian Keith Collins and companion, Abby Clarkson, Philippi; twenty-three grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jenkins and Myrtle Miner; by four half-sisters, Octavia Newman, Thelma Stevens, Pricilla Miner and Permalia Lantz; and by one half-brother, Floyd Collins. Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and an in-home care-giver. She formerly attended the Peoples Chapel Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and others and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Robert Lowther and William Berdine will officiate and interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Wednesday. Arrangements were entrusted to the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home.
