Charles Wesley Schoolcraft, age 77, of French Creek, WV died Monday, December 21, 2009 at his home. He was born October 27, 1932 in Gallaway, WV, a son of the late Ollie O. and Gay Brady Schoolcraft. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one step daughter, Lisa Stackpole; one sister, Jessica Harvey McNemar and one brother, Greyson Schoolcraft. He is survived by his companion, Margaret M. (Christian) Hulett of French Creek; three sons, Ben Schoolcraft and wife Cathy of NC, Mark Schoolcraft and wife Amanda of Port Republic, VA and Paul W. Schoolcraft and wife Trisha of Buckhannon; two daughters, Tina Tenney of Lumberport, WV and Hollie Clark and husband of WV; step daughter, Robin Stackpole of Buckhannon and fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Schoolcraft was a coal miner for Dola Mines. Friends will be received at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home on Thursday, December 24, 2009 from 11 AM – 1 PM the funeral hour with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Talbott Cemetery at Talbott, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and Chapters # 5 & 36 DAV will conduct Military Honors at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the family for funeral expenses. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
